puppy1.png When you are looking for a veterinary care clinic, you should be able to count on superior care and excellent service.  We at Highland Veterinary Hospital, in Highland MI, have assembled an expert team of veterinary professionals to bring you the best possible healthcare for your pet.  We have a state of the art veterinary facility which is clean, comfortable, and efficient. Call (248) 887-3755 to schedule an appointment and we will find a time that is convenient for you. At our veterinary facility, we believe you should expect high quality care as well as great service. Our veterinary health care team is committed to providing exceptional client service and veterinary health care.

Once a year, you should take your pet in for a check-up. Your pet's annual vet check-up will include a total physical exam, nose to tail. Tooth and gum brushing, and an annual cleaning by your veterinarian maybe in order. Like you, your pet can lose his teeth due to decay and neglect. Dr. Jennifer Groehn, or one of our other two wonderful DVMs, will check the health of your pet and you will be very happy you came to Highland Veterinary Hospital for service.

Our veterinarians are compassionate and willing to explain all the procedures your pet undergoes. We strive to be your vet with whom both you and your pet feel comfortable. Our staff and facilities are qualified for surgery and perform procedures requiring anesthesia, such as teeth cleaning. Your veterinarian will likely suggest a pre-surgical exam, possibly including a chest X-ray and lab work of blood and urine, before your pet is anesthetized. During the procedure he might need an IV drip; antibiotics may be necessary before and after.

Bring in any medical history you have of your pet when you come to our vet clinic.  It's best to keep a journal of your pets health throughout his or her life, including behavioral shifts.  If you have something like this, share it with our team. If not, let us know everything that you think will be important. Dr. Groehn can still work with whatever information you have.

In some circumstances, your veterinarian may refer you to a specialist, a veterinarian who has completed advanced studies in specialties such as internal medicine, surgery, and emergency care if your pet must undergo a procedure that requires more specialized knowledge and experience.
